Flexural strength is the ability of a material to withstand forces applied perpendicular to its longitudinal axis. The objective of the bending test is to determine the mechanical properties of the materials related to the stresses and arrows (deformations) at the maximum and breaking points, and elastic modulus in bending taking into account the separation between supports calculated from the thickness of the test tube. The bending test is performed on the universal test machine, also used in other tests such as tensile, compression and bending. In this case, it is necessary to change the supports and the loading tool. The test consists of submitting a test piece, resting on the ends, to a force on its perpendicular axis.
